Dr. Zack
Psychologist and Attachment Specialist
Dr. Zack Bein is a psychologist who specializes in Attachment and its many applications in the clinical domain. He has done thousands of hours of Attachment repair with clients and patients in his acclaimed practice at the Adult Attachment Program. He trained with Dr Daniel Brown for several years before he passed away. Soon after, Dr David Elliott sought him out to collaborate and he has been training with David since then. He has authored a chapter on the correct clinical distribution of Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) findings, and is a certified reliable rater of Reflective Functioning on AAIs. Join Dr. Zack as he shares insights on the significant deterrent of trauma on the path to secure attachment, emotional growth and development. This is a telehealth event. Some topics to be discussed include: The impact of trauma (little t vs Big T) and importance of having secure attachment figures to buffer the negative impacts. How does secure attachment start? What does it look like in our children? How can we cultivate it as parents? What are the qualities of parenting that are deleterious in the development of secure attachment? Other topics included: Cultural anthropology, clinical psychology, history, biological bases for attachment, the securely attached kitten, attachment in infancy, adult attachment, assessment of attachment strategies, attachment treatments, what it means to you, current research.
